I Put a dildo on camera. Then I watched what happened to my viewers.
I wanted to test something I've wondered about since I started tracking my streams:
Does putting a sex toy on camera actually bring more people into the room?
So on September 23, I tried it.
I timestamped when I brought the dildo into the stream, when I put it back away, and then looked at the viewer data around those events.
What happened
The interesting part wasn't just that viewers increased while the dildo was visible.
The audience kept growing after I put it away.
The dildo segment started around 4:09 PM. I put it away around 4:21 PM.
But the overall viewer count continued climbing afterward, reaching its session peak around 4:24 PM.
So there was roughly a 3-minute lag between putting the toy away and the eventual viewer peak before declining again.
That got my attention.
Does that mean Chaturbate boosted my page rank due to the temporary increase in viewers?
No idea.
And that's exactly why I'm tracking this stuff instead of making assumptions.
The data is consistent with a couple of possibilities:
People saw the dildo thumbnail and more came into the room directly.
Something about the increased activity may have produced a delayed increase in visibility, leading to a delayed viewer peak.
Or it could simply have been normal variation in the audience.
I don't have enough data from one stream to distinguish between those explanations.
But now I have a hypothesis.
The next experiment
I'm going to start treating these content changes as actual events:
content appears → viewers arrive → content disappears → viewer trajectory afterward
If I see the same pattern repeatedly, it gets much more interesting.
That's basically what Nerdy Cam Girl Stats is about: taking things cam girls normally say “seem to work” and actually looking at the timestamps and numbers.
One dildo experiment isn't proof of anything.
But it might be the beginning of a pretty interesting experiment.
